There might be risks and hard roads to take but all these will pay-off in the long run. Here are some things you need to prepare for:   1. Be prepared for a changing career. Being an estate agent may not be your first love. Somebody might have influenced you into the idea but all the decision is in you. If you make a shift, better be prepared for it.   2. Be prepared to travel. Estate agents should have the interest to meet sellers or buyers of properties. After all, these people will pay for the expense later on. Don't ever tell your clients: "I can't come, I have no money". They won't want to hear such words from you.   3. Be prepared for online platforms. Online venues or websites are the way to go if you want to be saleable as an agent. More and more people are working their way out to locate an agent online. This may require some setting up to do but you will find more people through these venues.   4. Be prepared to answer questions. There are areas that require at least one year of formal studies on real estate before you can be qualified as an agent. Your prospects will also look into that background.   Last but not the least - be prepared to meet various people. You can meet people who listen but you will also meet people who complain. You need to deal with them if you intend to make this your career.
